Family-based care

A loving family for every child.

Children belong in families—not orphanages

Decades of research show that family is the best place for a child’s physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual development.

But poverty, disease, violence, and catastrophes often put immense pressure on families, jeopardizing their ability to stay together. In fact, according to UNICEF, nearly 90% of the world’s orphans have at least one living parent who cannot afford to safely care for them.

Children thrive in loving homes. That’s why Bethany provides family-based care.

As of 2021,
Bethany had placed 709 children in foster homes
and finalized 477 adoptions. Additionally, more than
50 children were reunited with their families in 2021-2022.
