Maria Mahtani
Executive Director - NY and NJ - Fair Lawn
Maria joined Bethany in May 2021 as the Executive Director of the NJ and NY offices. She earned her master’s degree from Nyack College in 2011 and has over 20 years of experience working with youth and families, both in church youth ministry as well as in the non-profit sector as a case manager and psychotherapist. She has ten years of experience in non-profit leadership and for the last four years, she served on the local Bethany board before taking on the role of Director. She is passionate about child welfare and is grateful to work with a dedicated team to fulfill the vision of Bethany to keep children safe, loved and connected through family. Maria and her husband are proud parents of a teenage boy from South Africa.

Cinthia Gil
PRS Home Study and Case Manager - Albany
Cinthia has worked in community service for more than 20 years, which included providing support to children and their families in mental health services and community support. The past nine years she’s worked as a case manager providing post release and home study services. She has a B.A. in speech pathology and audiology from Lehman College, a B.A. in social psychology from Southern New Hampshire University, and a master’s in teaching from the University of Southern California. She lives in New York with her husband and three children.

Jeremy J. Mateo
PRS Home Study and Case Manager - Albany
As a Bethany case manager, Jeremy’s hope is to show and offer unaccompanied minors a safe and thriving life. His heart for these kids developed early, as his mother was a foster parent for unaccompanied minors. Jeremy, age 23, has a passion for his generation and for preaching and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. In his spare time, Jeremy is a youth leader and CEO of a young adult organization called Beating the O’s. He loves preaching the word of God and playing and watching baseball.

Teresita Rubino
UAC Case Manager for NY and NJ - Fair Lawn
Katrina Rubino feels blessed to work in the UAC program at Bethany Christian Services. She enjoys watching undocumented children improve their future and recover from trauma.
