Regional Branch Director - Lancaster
Mark has over 20 years of experience working in Child Welfare. He has been a Branch Director Bethany since January of 2009. Mark has a Master’s Degree in Ministry Leadership; a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work; and an Associate’s Degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling. Prior to coming to Bethany, Mark served in various positions relating to Foster Care over a 10-year period including roles in recruitment; writing Family Profiles for Foster Families and providing Case Management for children in Foster Care. More recently, Mark has also served for nine years on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Council for Children Youth and Family Services (PCCYFS); Other board and organizational leadership committees include Ambassadors for Hope and The Grape Leaf Empowerment Center. Jamie Minick, MA, LPC
Assistant Branch Director, MA, LPC - Lancaster
Jamie Minick serves as the Assistant Branch Director for Central Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Jamie holds degrees in Psychology and Counseling and is a licensed professional counselor. She has been serving in child welfare for over 20 years. Jamie also cares for clients in Bethany’s Counseling Services Program. She values Bethany’s ability to bring faith into the services being provided and ensuring that all those she encounters recognize their value.
Alaina A. Kirk
Administrative Assistant/Case Aid - Lancaster
Alaina Kirk has been serving children and families of diverse backgrounds in the Lancaster County area for three years. She has worked as a toddler teacher, and a preschool teacher while pursuing her degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Pennsylvania State University.
Alexandria L. Wiest
Resource Family Development Specialist MSW, LSW - Lancaster
Alexandria serves as a Resource Family Development Specialist for Foster Care Team in the Lancaster office. She has been a member of Bethany since 2018. Alexandria holds a bachelor’s degree in social work as well as a master’s degree in social work. She is a practicing Licensed Social Worker in the State of Pennsylvania. Alexandria has experience working with at risk youth in a variety of programs. She has experience with juvenile probation services, homeless student’s programs, and youth mentoring programs throughout Lancaster County. She also has experience working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder on a volunteer basis and children within the foster care system. She values Bethany’s emphasis on teamwork and that all Bethany employees advocate above and beyond for families and children in their care.
Candace R. Reynolds
Outreach Coordinator - Lancaster
Candace joined the team at Bethany Christian Services in April of 2019. She has always had a passion for helping children. She appreciates the mission of Safe Families for Children and what they do for families in our community. Candace has 2 sons. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her children, volunteering with the Junior League of Lancaster, working out, and spending time with friends.
Executive Assistant - Lancaster
Carol has worked at Bethany more than 10 years, and she provides a broad scope of support to the regional director. She devotes much of her time to raising funds through grant writing, enabling Bethany to serve more children and families.
Casie S. Fisher
Post-Permanency Specialist MA - Lancaster
Casie draws from her background in education and her training as a counselor to support children from hard places and the adults who love them. Casie enjoys coming alongside families by offering understanding and trauma-informed resources.
Psychologist, MS - Lancaster
Cheryl is a licensed psychologist, certified Theraplay therapist, and a registered clinician with ATTACh (Association for Training on Trauma and Attachment). She has designed, implemented, provided services, and fulfilled the role of supervisory/consulting psychologist in a specialized treatment program for children/adolescents and their parents/families with diagnoses associated with reactive attachment disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and developmental trauma disorder. At Bethany since 2013, Cheryl is providing outpatient psychotherapy, parent support groups, parent consultations, and trainings for parents and professionals. She is also the consulting psychologist for attachment and trauma issues for clinical services.
Devona N. Myers
Foster Care Case Manager BS - Lancaster
Devona earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern University and is anticipating her MSW from Widener University in December 2020. Devona has been serving with Bethany for over a year now as a Foster Care/Adoption Case Manager. Devona has a huge heart for working in the field of Social Work and providing care to all clients served. She enjoys educating families on the realism of the foster care system while promoting and encouraging diversity within the system.
Post-Permanency Specialist BS/BA - Lancaster
Donya has worked for more than 20 years in Foster Care and Foster Care Adoption. She has worked at Bethany since 2010 and is working in the Post Permanency Department as a Caseworker.
ADOPTS Therapist - Lancaster
As a therapist, Doreen supports families in their adoption journeys and creates a safe place for children who were adopted or in foster care to grow and heal. At Bethany since 2011, she feels blessed to work in an organization where she can combine her Christian faith with her professional career. Doreen and her husband are joyfully raising three children.
Francesca M. Wroten
Foster Care Case Manager - Lancaster
Francesca has recently earned her Bachelors in Social Work with a minor in Sociology from Millersville University in Spring of 2020. She plans on achieving her Masters in Social Work while working full time with Bethany. Francesca is proud to be serving her community and helping vulnerable populations have a voice. Francesca holds high the value of family relationships and is passionate about creating the best possible environment for a child to grow.
Therapy Supervisor, Domestic Foster Care, MDiv - Lancaster
Heather has served as a foster parent and worked with families through foster care and pastoral ministry for over ten years. She is driven to see brokenness restored and healing released in anyone God brings her way through trauma-informed therapy and prayer. Heather and her husband have three biological children and love exploring cultures.
Jennifer F. Strasenburgh
Women's Advocate BA - Lancaster
Jennifer has worked with high risk families for over 12 years, connecting them to community resources and helping them navigate life's obstacles. She is trained in Motivational Interviewing and has extensive experience working with Lancaster County Prison, children with an incarcerated parent, and providing community training's regarding trauma and trauma-informed care.
Post-Adoption Services Case Manager, MSW - Lancaster
Since 2012, Julia has provided hope, healing, and post-adoption services to adoptive families at Bethany. She deeply understands the unique challenges adoptive families face. She celebrates family strengths, works with families to build stronger relationships, and teaches trauma-informed parenting. Julia also facilitates a monthly support group for adoptive parents.
Kyra D. Gonzalez
Foster Care Supervisor MSW - Lancaster
Kyra serves as a Foster Care Adoption Supervisor. She has received her Bachelors and Masters in Social Work. Kyra has experience in mental health, counseling, and hospital social work with a various range of populations. Kyra is passionate about providing the love and hope that God has shown to her and doing so in serving youth and families.
Post-Permanency Supervisor LSW - Lancaster
As program coordinator for Post-Adoption Services, Lisa is thrilled to be in a position she absolutely loves! Her primary passion is providing education and training to adoptive parents and the professionals who surround the families. In the past Lisa has served as local coordinator for a summer hosting program for orphans. Lisa and her husband, Joe, are grateful to be parents of six adult children, two of whom are adopted, and grandparents to eleven, four of whom are adopted.
Office Coordinator - Lancaster
Missi has been with Bethany since December 2017. She had previously worked with the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network for 9 years in various roles. She is now the Office Coordinator for the Lancaster office. In this role, Missi will continue doing intake, handle day to day operations of the office, provide some technical support, and work with the donor engagement team on various events. She is very excited to learn her new role and continue to support those on the front line who provide care for vulnerable children and perspective foster/adoptive families.
Post-Permanency Specialist MSS/LSW - Lancaster
Sara has been serving families at Bethany since 2018. Sara has had numerous experiences working with children and teens since 2014 when she started her academic career at Cairn University studying Social Work. Sara has since attended Bryn Mawr College and has attained her License of Social Work. Sara is passionate in serving adoptive families, as she is an adoptee herself. Sara is grateful to be a part of Bethany’s life-affirming and faith-driven work with children and families.
Family Resource Development Specialist MDiv - Lancaster
Sharon joined the Bethany Christian Services team in 2017 initially working in Refugee Services and then transitioning to Foster Care and Adoption. She has over ten years of international missions experience and is fluent in Spanish. Sharon truly considers it an honor and a privilege to support foster families in the work they are doing as they parent and care for children who are placed in their homes.
Resource Family Development Specialist, BA - Reading
Chris has worked with children and families in various capacities for over twenty years and has been a part of the Bethany Christian Services team since 2011. She has such admiration for families who have chosen to care for, love and parent children from the foster care system. Chris finds it an honor and a privilege to work with and support foster families, and the children they are caring for and parenting.
Therapist MSW - Lancaster
Heather joined the Bethany Christian Services team in October 2017. Since, she has been involved in several programs including: child case management, foster care/adoption supervisor, equestrian preparation, and is currently a therapist for general counseling and foster care/adoption. In addition, Heather assists within our CARES training, facilitating our trauma trainings out of the Lancaster office. Heather is passionate about her work and the clients she serves.
Adoption Worker, MPA - Lancaster
Jessica has been working in the field of adoption for Bethany Christian Services since February 2001. She is also an adoptive mother, having adopted her daughter from China in 2005.
Parent Advocate, BA - Lancaster
Kiley has worked as a pregnancy counselor for over 12 years and it’s been an honor to walk through the decision-making process with so many men and women. She is humbled by the loving and unselfish choices these individuals make for their children and is passionate about her work and helping people in need.
Adoption Specialist BS/BA - Lancaster
Lea is an adoption caseworker in the domestic and international adoption programs who has been working at Bethany since 2010. She enjoys hearing her clients’ life stories during the home study process, educating on adoptive parenting and trans-racial family dynamics, and supporting her clients during the uncertain wait. Lea is an adoptive mother, with a son and daughter adopted from African countries.
Therapist MA - Reading
Teala serves as a therapist for both the Lancaster and Reading branches. She has a desire to come alongside the children and families that are adjusting to the unique challenges and strengths of their temporary or permanent family system. She appreciates the values of Bethany and the ability to combine her faith and occupation in order to support families and children. One of her areas of interest is assisting children through equine therapy to enable them to connect with their past, understand their present, and enhance their future.
