Followers of Jesus Answering God’s Call to Serve

Through faith, we demonstrate the love and compassion of Christ to vulnerable children and families.

An unwavering faith commitment since 1944

For more than 80 years, faith has been the foundation of our work and the reason Christian is in our name. It inspires us to serve children and families with compassion, dignity, and the transformative love of Christ.

As the needs of our communities continue to grow and evolve, we believe we are called to go further than ever before. As Christians, we are uniquely positioned to respond with compassion, dignity, and excellence, meeting people where they are and walking alongside them with hope and care.

This work is not simply about providing services. It’s about reflecting the love of Christ in tangible ways to children and families who need stability, support, and the reminder that they are not alone.

“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”

- 1 John 3:18

Bethany’s statement of faith reinforces the Biblical principles that shape our staff, culture, services, and partnerships.

Authority of scripture
Authority of scripture

We affirm the Bible as the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the foundation for our faith, our values, and our work. Scripture reveals God’s character, His redemptive plan, and His call to love and serve others. While we uphold the inerrancy of Scripture, we recognize that Christians across denominations may interpret it differently.

2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12

Spiritual formation of staff
Spiritual formation of staff

We are committed to the spiritual care and growth of our staff, recognizing that our work is both professional and deeply spiritual. We honor the diversity of Christianity within Bethany and create opportunities for all staff to engage in ways that deepen our unified experience of knowing, loving, and following Jesus.

A biblical mandate to care for the vulnerable
A biblical mandate to care for the vulnerable

We are called to care for the orphan, the widow, and the foreigner. We live out this Biblical mandate by standing in the gap for children who need safety, stability, and love. Our mission to demonstrate the love and compassion of Jesus through quality social services shapes our commitment to walk alongside children and families with dignity, empathy, and hope.

James 1:27; Deuteronomy 10:18–19; Isaiah 1:17

God’s reflection in humanity
God’s reflection in humanity

We believe every person is created in the image of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity, worth, and purpose. We further believe God creates human beings in His image as male and female, as determined by biological sex.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139:13–16; Galatians 3:28

The sanctity of human life
The sanctity of human life

We believe that all human life is sacred from conception to natural death. We are committed to offering life-affirming options to expectant parents, walking alongside them with compassion, support, and hope.

Psalm 139:13–16; Jeremiah 1:5; Luke 1:41

God’s design for marriage
God’s design for marriage

We believe God designed the family as the primary structure for love, care, and human flourishing. We work to strengthen families and preserve them whenever possible. We affirm the biblical design of marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman, established by God to reflect His love and faithfulness. This covenant reflects Christ’s love and provides a stable, nurturing environment for children.

Psalm 68:6; Ephesians 6:1–4; Proverbs 22:6; Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; Ephesians 5:25–33

Partnership with the church
Partnership with the church

Since our founding, Bethany has partnered with the local church to live out the Gospel by providing safe and loving homes for children. We believe the Church is God’s instrument for transformation in the world.

Excellence as worship
Excellence as worship

We pursue excellence in our work as an act of worship and a reflection of God’s character.

Colossians 3:23–24; Proverbs 22:29; 1 Peter 2:9

We know this work was never meant to be done alone.

Jesus said, “And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me” (Matthew 18:5, NIV). That calling is at the heart of everything we do—and it’s a mission we share with people like you.

Every child welcomed, every family supported, and every life impacted happens because when God’s people choose to come alongside this mission with compassion and faith. Whether you give as a donor, partner as a church, open your home as a family, or faithfully pray for the work ahead, you are part of bringing hope and healing to children and families in need.

Together, we can continue showing the love of Christ in tangible ways -- because lasting change happens when a community answers the call together.
