Leaning into their faith and using their gifts and talents to help others, Kim and Jake have hosted 36 children in nine years as Safe Families for Children hosts at Bethany.

They describe hosting as opening your doors and hearts to give children a safe place where they’re loved and cared for while their parents deal with a temporary crisis. As parents themselves, Kim and Jake enjoy welcoming new children into their home. But they especially appreciate that Safe Families encourages hosts to build relationships with parents, praying for them and being a source of support for them—especially when parents don’t have other family members they can turn to in a challenging time.

Inspired by Proverbs 3:27, Kim and Jake have committed not to withhold good from families they can help when it’s in their power to do so. If caring for children is your gift, Safe Families may be a great match for you to make a real difference for families that need your support.
