Refugee. Olympian. Human. Pur Biel's story
A talent for running gave Pur new hope for his future.
Pur’s village was attacked in 2005, forcing him to flee his home at only 10 years old. He made it to Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya where he spent years living without his biological family. A talent for running—paired with the generosity of foster families in Kenya and the U.S..—gave Pur a new hope for his future.
Now, he’s paying it forward using his platform as an Olympic athlete and advocate to bring hope to the millions of refugees around the world.
