My joy in fostering

In 21 years as a foster parent, Tee has learned a thing or two about caring for children with a trauma history. She assures them, “I’m not here to replace your mom; I’m your caregiver.” She further demonstrates this by creating a calm and welcoming space for children in her home while safely keeping them connected to their families while they’re in care. More than 225 children have been recipients of Tee’s thoughtful hospitality through the years. “I have this home, these bedrooms… what am I doing?” she said. “Why not open my heart and home to someone who needs me?”
