Bethany Christian Services Applauds Re-Introduction of the Fair Day in Court for Kids Act

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Bethany Christian Services today endorsed the* Fair Day in Court for Kids Act 2023*, which will help ensure a greater chance of success for children navigating the United States immigration system and will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal process.

“Last year, nearly 129,000 unaccompanied children entered the United States seeking safety from dangerous situations like violence, war, persecution, and natural disasters. Once they arrive, they’re met with the often-overwhelming challenge of navigating the legal system alone,” said Liz van Zyl, Vice President of Government Affairs at Bethany Christian Services. “At Bethany, we believe that every child deserves to be safe, loved, and connected, and we’re pleased our elected officials are taking action to protect vulnerable children.
