Meet The Team
California State Executive Director - Modesto
Believing that it is God’s desire to use Christians to protect and serve children, Sandi has a passion to honor God by helping children in whatever capacity He calls her to. She started her career with Bethany Christian Services in 1997 as a pregnancy counselor and has had the opportunity to work with families adopting through the domestic infant program, the foster care system, and internationally. She is motivated by God’s grace and loves having the honor of being a witness as God’s perfect plans for a child, who the world may see as “difficult to place,” join their forever family. Sandi and her husband Doug have four children (one that joined their family through adoption) and the most adorable granddaughter ever.
Social Worker/Adoption Specialist - Modesto
Rhonda joined her family through adoption and is also blessed to be a proud adoptive parent. Her passion for adoption is very personal and she loves her role of walking alongside expectant parents who find themselves in a difficult season of life with an unintended pregnancy. Rhonda has been joyfully serving children for more than 30 years and joined our team in the summer of 1999. With a background in foster care, residential treatment, and school counseling, she understands the value of a loving and secure family. Rhonda counts it a privilege to be part of the life-changing ministry of adoption.
Office Manager - Modesto
Joyce has faithfully served the Lord through her office manager position here at Bethany Christian Services since 1986. She loves being able to come alongside the social work staff by providing administrative support. She counts it a privilege to be a part of a team that offers hope to vulnerable women and children.
UC Therapist, UAC Long-Term Foster Care - Modesto
Miriam started her career at Bethany in summer of 2021. Growing up as a proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, Miriam knew she wanted to give back to the community that raised her. After she graduated from San Francisco State with her master’s in social work, she was thrilled to find Bethany and the opportunity to work directly with this special and unique population. Miriam began her career in education, using Applied Behavioral Analysis and working with children diagnosed with Autism. Later, she spent 10 years working in foster care, specifically with children who were significantly impacted by trauma. She now has the privilege of providing compassionate and empathically driven clinical services while assisting unaccompanied children and undocumented adults as they adjust to the shock of living in this new country.

Roxana was excited to take on a new role as case manager working with immigrant and refugee children. Roxana has worked with children of all ages for over five years, and firmly believes this is her calling. In her free time, she loves to spend time with family, watch documentaries, and explore the outdoors. Sangeeta Singh-Heinrichs, MSW. ASW
Program Supervisor/Licensor, Unaccompanied Refugee Minors Long-Term Foster Care (LTFC) - Modesto
After learning about Bethany right out of graduate school, Sangeeta was convinced it would be her ideal place to work—a setting that would blend her practical social work skills with her passion to serve children and families in a Christ-centered ministry. She began her 30-year career with Bethany in Domestic Infant Adoption as a pregnancy counselor. She currently supervises the newly developing Unaccompanied Refugee Minors Long-Term Foster Care program. “God is growing me in new ways, and it’s exciting and humbling to be a part of this urgent and critical work, serving the most vulnerable children fleeing to the U.S. without family.” As a daughter of immigrants, Sangeeta has a deep compassion for those seeking a safe and welcoming life in the U.S. She’s confident God will bring the right foster families for these youth. Sangeeta and her husband live in Riverbank, CA, are blessed with two beautiful daughters, a fantastic “son-in-love,” and two much-loved fur kids.
