Bethany Christian Services Statement on New Policy for Immigrant Spouses of U.S. Citizens

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Bethany Christian Services released the following statement after President Biden announced the new program, “Parole in Place,” allowing undocumented immigrants, married to U.S. citizens, to gain legal status and create a path towards U.S. residency and citizenship:

“Bethany Christian Services commends the Biden administration for taking this important step toward helping families stay together. Without this policy, hundreds of thousands of individuals would be forced to put their lives on hold to keep their families together,” says Dr. Tawnya Brown, Senior Vice President of Operational Strategy & Global, Refugee, and Immigrant Services for Bethany Christian Services. “We believe that everyone, regardless of where they come from, is created in the image of God and is deserving of safety and care. We are encouraged to see the Administration’s support of policies that respect the inherent dignity of every person.”
