Bethany Christian Services Earns Full Accreditation by the Council on Accreditation

December 11, 2020

Bethany Christian Services was reaccredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), a review board consisting of experts in the field of human and social services. Every four years, COA completes a formal review of Bethany’s practices, programs, and services to ensure the organization has set high performance standards and is committed to delivering the highest quality services. Receiving accreditation demonstrates that an agency is providing services with a high standard of excellence.

“We are thrilled to be re-accredited by COA because it demonstrates that Bethany is serving children and families with the excellence our Christian faith encourages,” said Chris Palusky, President & CEO of Bethany Christian Services. “Every child deserves to be safe, loved, and connected through family. We are committed to serving them with the highest standards.”

As part of the review, Bethany was rated on 1,311 different standards and Bethany branches in five different locations —including Central Pennsylvania, Missouri, Indiana, Florida, and Grand Rapids— were visited and reviewed by COA officials. Additionally, over 285 employees and 50 clients were interviewed by COA peer reviewers.

Bethany did not receive any corrective action in the review of our assigned standards and received positive remarks on our operations and services.

Bethany will undergo the re-accreditation process again in 2024.

About Bethany Christian Services Bethany is an international Christian nonprofit changing the world through family. 76 years ago, we began our work by serving one child. Today, we partner with churches and communities in more than 30 states and nearly a dozen countries to strengthen and preserve families, support refugees and immigrants fleeing danger, and find safe, loving families for children who need them. Bethany demonstrates the love and compassion of Jesus, impacting hundreds of thousands of lives every year, because we believe everyone deserves to be safe, loved, and connected.
