Meet The Team
Alyssa Wolfe joined Bethany Christian Services in 2016. She works as an adoption specialist for the domestic infant adoption program. Alyssa graduated with her bachelor’s degree in social work from UW-Whitewater. She and her husband are active in their local church and are also licensed foster parents for Waukesha County. Alyssa is passionate about children and helping them find their forever home.
Donna Lehman joined Bethany Christian Services in 2004 as an administrative assistant. Recently, she has been assisting families with their education requirements for their adoptions and is the adoption education assistant. She enjoys this new responsibility, as no family dynamic or adoption is the same.. She is originally from Massachusetts and earned her degree in executive studies from Salter College. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, participating in book clubs, walking her dog, Hope, biking and hiking with her daughter.
Kathy Koeffler joined Bethany Christian Services in 2001. She supports the domestic and international programs and pregnancy counseling, as well as handling the administrative tasks in the office. Since 2014, she has taken on new responsibilities with the addition of an outpatient mental health clinic in the Waukesha office. Outside of work, Kathy enjoys hiking, gardening, and spending time with her son.
Paula Trokan joined Bethany Christian Services in 2001 as an adoption social worker. She also coordinates our short-term, emergency foster care program. Paula graduated with both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Before coming to Bethany Christian Services, Paula worked for Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties as a child protective services worker. Paula loves caring for children and has had a total of ten children living in her home, including biological, adopted, foster children, and foreign exchange students.
Wendy Rhodes is a pregnancy counselor who has been with Bethany Christian Services for over ten years. She has a passion for coming alongside expectant parents as they work toward parenting or making an adoption plan. Wendy received her social work degree from Carroll University. She enjoys hiking, sunshine, and spending time with her husband and two children.
Jenny Schmeichel joined Bethany Christian Services in 2005. She has been blessed in her life by adoption both personally and professionally. Jenny and her husband adopted two daughters from China through Bethany’s international program. Jenny graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with her Master’s degree in social work in 2000. In 2016, she earned her certificate in Adoption Competency.
