Connected Families: A Support Group for Adoptive Parents
Parenting a child who has experienced trauma, loss, and adversity can bring unique joys and unique challenges. Join other adoptive and kinship families for a virtual support group designed to provide encouragement, practical tools, and meaningful connection.
Grounded in Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®), this group helps caregivers better understand the impact of trauma on behavior, attachment, and brain development. Together, we will explore strategies that strengthen connection, build trust, and support healing while maintaining appropriate structure and boundaries.
Topics may include:
- Understanding behavior through a trauma-informed lens
- Building connection and trust within the family
- Supporting emotional regulation
- Creating felt safety for children and youth
- Practical TBRI strategies for everyday challenges
- Caregiver self-care and support
- Sharing successes, struggles, and encouragement with other families
Whether you are navigating difficult behaviors, seeking additional support, or simply looking to connect with others who understand the adoption journey, you are welcome.
