Regional Branch Director - Atlanta
Nonyem Drayton is very passionate about serving children and families (all ages) and has been employed by Bethany for over 15 years in various capacities. She has served as Executive Director of the GA Branch since 2009 and as Regional Director since 2013.
Assistant Branch Director of Permanency - Atlanta
Sharon Cape has worked at Bethany for more than 17 years. Currently, she serves as the assistant branch director over Permanency Services which includes all adoption programs (infant, international, foster care, and Wendy’s Wonderful Kids adoptions) as well as services involving international children who do not have documented status. Before she came to Bethany, Sharon had worked in programs dealing with domestic violence, adoption services, grant writing, and developing and maintaining a visitation facility. Sharon graduated from Auburn University with a degree in business administration specializing in marketing and then 10 years later attended and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Masters of Science in Social Work. Her foundation is her faith and sees her work as a ministry.
Assistant Director of Pre-Permanency - Atlanta
Cheryl received her undergraduate degree in human development from Mount Vernon College in Washington, DC in 1994 and then went on to receive her master’s in social work from Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, Massachusetts in 1996. After completing her graduate studies, she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where she began her career in the nonprofit world recruiting, training and licensing families to adopt older children and sibling groups. In January 2011, Cheryl joined Bethany Christian Services as the director of State Child Placement Services. In this position, she managed Bethany’s Foster Care program, Foster Care Adoption program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids grant, and other state contracts which included the Child Life Histories program, Foster Parent Education and Advocacy program, and the Homes for Georgia’s Children Inquiry Line. In 2015, Cheryl was promoted to become the Assistant Branch Director of Pre-Permanency Services within the agency. One of Cheryl’s greatest professional achievements occurred in 2014 when she was named the President of the Georgia Association of Licensed Adoption Agencies (GALAA) which is a consortium of licensed child-placing agencies and other practitioners involved in providing adoption-related services and are organized to promote quality and ethical adoption services in the state of Georgia.
Director of Donor Engagement - Atlanta
Andi joined the team at Bethany in July 2015 and has been involved in nonprofit development with multiple organizations in Metro Atlanta, including the American Red Cross, M.U.S.T. Ministries, International Sports Federation, and Bethany Christian Services. Andi is an honor graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science in human services, and a minor in nonprofit administration. Andi lives with her husband and their feisty beagle, Hunter. Her favorite activities include travel, scuba diving, rock climbing, and running. In June 2014, Andi completed the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro!
Executive Assistant - Atlanta
Andrea studied fashion design and merchandising as well as business management and entrepreneurship. Andrea has worked in the nonprofit sector for more than eight years in various capacities, including but not limited to: office administration, event planning, community outreach, training, logistics, project management.
Office Manager/Admin Supervisor - Atlanta
Elaine joined Bethany in 2005 with more than 25 years of experience in administration. Elaine is office manager of the Atlanta office as well as our satellite offices in Athens, Augusta, Rome, and Columbus. She is supervisor of the administrative staff and also assists with coordinating events and fundraisers.
Director of Church & Community Relations - Atlanta
Marsha Reiter has been with Bethany since 2014 and is serving as Director of Church and Community Relations. She enjoys connecting community and church partners with the mission of Bethany Christian Services. Marsha graduated from Moody Bible Institute and received her Masters in Counseling from Ashland University. She has an extensive history of administration, volunteering and ministry to children, women and small groups. She is devoted to her husband Jim and their four sons and daughter. Marsha has completed two full marathons and enjoys cooking, traveling and digital scrapbooking.
