Event Details

Bethany Christian Services of Georgia invites prospective and current adoptive families, community partners, and service providers to join the They Need You Now Seminar, a powerful one-day event dedicated to creating brighter futures for children waiting for permanent families across Georgia.

This event is in person at Bethany Christian Services of Georgia's main location, but it can also be attended virtually. We highly encourage you to come in person for the best experience. Please let us know when you register how you plan to attend so we can ensure everyone who wants to attend in person can.

What Is This Event?

Designed as a comprehensive, trauma-informed experience, this seminar provides education, encouragement, and practical resources for families at every stage of the adoption journey. Participants will gain valuable tools to help them navigate the unique challenges and rewards of adoption while building connections to ongoing support services that promote long-term family stability and success.

With more than 11,000 children currently in Georgia's foster care system and hundreds of youth aging out each year without permanent family connections, the need for prepared and supported adoptive families has never been greater. The seminar will focus on both recruiting new adoptive families and strengthening existing adoptive placements, particularly for teens, sibling groups, and children with complex needs.

Attendees will choose from two specialized learning tracks:

·       Prospective Adoptive Family Track: Learn about the adoption process, understand the impact of trauma on children, hear from experienced adoptive parents, and gain practical insights to help make informed decisions about adoption.

·       Adoptive Parent Track: Strengthen parenting skills through trauma-informed strategies, learn techniques for building attachment and connection, discover resources for family stability, and connect with other adoptive families.

Featured presentations by respected professionals and advocates, including experts in trauma-informed care, resiliency, adoption education, and behavioral health will provide actionable strategies for supporting children and promoting healing, connection, and resilience within families.

Vendor and Community Partner Opportunities

Organizations providing family support services, behavioral health resources, educational programs, healthcare services, advocacy, and community-based supports are encouraged to participate. Vendors will have the opportunity to showcase their services, build valuable partnerships, and help strengthen the network of support available to families across Georgia.
