TESTIMONIALS

Photo of Parent Cafes

"Parent Cafés create a place where we can feel safe, vent, cry, laugh, talk, and just thrive off each other’s energy and strength of experiences. [Here] it feels like somebody is actually listening to me. What I say matters to somebody. I can be heard and not judged."

- Devetta, parent, grandparent, and volunteer Parent Café facilitator

Pastor Sepa Nashale, asylee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo

"When I came here, I was blessed with people who welcomed me, loved the stranger, and helped me settle, find a job, and go to college. I want to do the same for people. Today my church has helped resettle five refugee families."

- Pastor Sepa Nashale, asylee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo

PRAY WITH US

Refugee families

As the refugee crisis around the world worsens, pray for the children and families who’ve been forced from their homes. Pray for their safety as they wait in refugee camps. Pray they will soon arrive in their new homes and communities and neighbors will welcome them with love and understanding. Pray our capacity and funding will increase so we can help more families find home again with quality and compassionate services.

Families in crisis

Families are facing tough challenges. And getting help from complicated systems can be its own challenge. Please pray for parents and caregivers to have access to the help they need and to lean on their inner resiliency so they can grow stronger, giving their children the foundation they need to thrive now and for generations. Pray our family strengthening programs will continue to spread so every family can find the support they need to grow stronger, together.

Restoration for those battling addiction

The opioid epidemic is one of the most destructive crises of our time. Pray for all those battling addiction, especially parents. Pray God will place his healing hand on them and they will find hope, restoration, and peace. Pray they will find compassionate, effective support to become the parents they want to be and their children need them to be. Pray our recovery centers and programs will grow and receive financial support, so no one who needs help is ever turned away because of cost.

Children in foster care and those waiting for adoption

The needs of children in foster care grow increasingly challenging. Too many children are struggling with past trauma and intense emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs. Please pray for additional funding and support so we can meet them where they are, with accessible services that bring them healing and hope. Pray more foster families will step forward with the ability to offer the tender care these children need. Pray children in care will know the love of Jesus, feel supported, and have the resources they need to heal, grow, and see their potential is greater than their pain.

Our team

Our dedicated caseworkers and frontline staff willingly step into hard situations every day. They do it for children and families who need them. Pray the Lord will continue to kindle their passion and energy and protect their spirits from the difficult things they see. Pray our open positions will be filled with the right individuals who have a heart for children and families and are ready to serve. Please pray the Lord will bless all who are acting as his hands and feet, navigating complicated situations, and doing the emotionally challenging work that is shaping and changing lives.

Gratitude

The work we’re doing together is hard. But it’s urgent, essential, and worthwhile. Together, we are changing the world for children and families. We thank God for allowing us to be his partner in building up families and setting up generations to thrive. This past year, we’ve touched thousands of lives. And we couldn’t have done it without our faith in God and your faith in us. Please join us in thanking God for the purpose he’s laid before us and the good we’ve accomplished together.
