Dr. Kimberly Offutt
Executive Branch Director - Atlanta
Kimberly is an inspirational speaker, author, child advocate, social worker, and adoptive parent. She earned a bachelor’s from Georgia Southern, a master’s in social work from Michigan State, and a Doctorate of Christian Education from Midwest Theological University. Dr. Kim began her career in child welfare as a foster care case manager for the State of Georgia. She has served at Bethany for more than 20 years in various capacities in the child welfare field, advocating on behalf of children who are in foster care and available for adoption. She has developed statewide and national recruitment programs, led church engagement recruitment teams, and created innovative programs focused on youth most at risk of aging out of foster care. As a speaker, leader, and program developer, Kimberly has used her unique personal and professional skills to impact the lives of children and families around the world. Kimberly and her husband, Dr. Marcus Offutt, have seven children (four adopted from foster care) and six grandchildren. They currently live in Atlanta.
Cheryl Williams
Assistant Branch Director Child Welfare Services - Atlanta
Cheryl received her undergraduate degree in human development from Mount Vernon College in Washington, DC, and a master’s in social work from Smith College School for Social Work. After graduation she began her career in Atlanta in the nonprofit world, recruiting, training and licensing families to adopt older children and sibling groups. Cheryl joined Bethany as director of State Child Placement Services, managing the foster care program, foster care adoption program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids grant, and other state contracts. One of Cheryl’s greatest professional achievements was being named president of the Georgia Association of Licensed Adoption Agencies (GALAA). This consortium of licensed child-placing agencies and other practitioners provide adoption-related services and are organized to promote quality and ethical adoption services.
April Henderson
Assistant Branch Director Refugee and Immigrant Services - Atlanta
April is an experienced non-profit director and leader with extensive experience working in the education and social service field targeting the needs of at-risk youth and vulnerable families. She has an M.Ed. with a concentration in leadership and management. Throughout her career, April has provided leadership and experience in the areas of prevention of sexual exploitation of children/human trafficking, homelessness, mental health, refugee services, foster care, case management services, substance use prevention, and building community partnerships. She’s a proven speaker and trainer in youth development and services and has served in many capacities with Bethany. April is a published author and enjoys watching sports, line-dancing, journaling/writing, her relationship with God, and spending time with loved ones. She resides in Fayette County with her husband, daughter, and son.
Bindi Avrett
Assistant Branch Director Family Strengthening and Preservation - Atlanta
Bindi began her career with the Department of Family and Children Services as a foster care case manager and later worked as a counselor in a juvenile detention center. She joined Bethany as a foster care case manager and has held several positions during her years here. Bindi received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Lee University. She and her husband have two beautiful children.
Andrea Darden
Executive Assistant - Atlanta
Andréa studied fashion design and merchandising as well as business management and entrepreneurship. She has worked in the nonprofit sector in various capacities, including office administration, event planning, community outreach, training, logistics, and project management.
