Jillian Alfeo

Jillian Alfeo

Regional Director of Operations - Cumberland

Jillian is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who earned her Bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College and her Master’s degree from Boston University School of Medicine. Jillian has fifteen years of experience in behavioral healthcare working with children and families and in geropsych and memory care units. Jillian is a Peer Reviewer for COA, a Course Educator at BU Medical School and has been trained in adventured based therapy and challenge course management. Jillian and her husband Gino have three beautiful children, Ayla, Celina and Gino. Jillian serves as the Regional Director of Operations for the Northeast.

Samantha Barias

Samantha Barias

Unaccompanied Children Program Case Manager - Cumberland

Samantha joined Bethany Christian Services in 2012 as a refugee family reunification worker. She has six years of case management, crisis intervention, and advocacy experience. She is passionate about working with refugee and immigrant families and children by connecting them to appropriate services in their new community. Samantha is bilingual and studied at Salem State University.

Stephanie Maratta

Homebuilders Program Supervisor - Cumberland

Stephanie Maratta has five years of experience working in foster care with children who have developmental delays and emotional disabilities. She studied at Adelphi University.

Katie Gangemella

Katie Gangemella

Adoption Specialist MSW/MA - Cumberland

Katie joined Bethany Christian Services in 2017. Katie serves as our Adoption Specialist, supporting families who are pursuing foster care adoption, domestic infant adoption, or intercountry adoption. A licensed clinical social worker, Katie has worked with children and families in a variety of settings. Katie studied at Rhode Island College and possesses a master’s degree in social work. With specialized training in adoption, child trauma, and youth permanency, she is especially passionate about advocating for youth in the child welfare system. Katie takes great joy in serving families throughout their adoption journey.

Rebecca Dame

Social Worker BS/BA - Cumberland

Becca received her Bachelors in Psychology and minor in Human Development & Family from the University of Rhode Island. She has experience working in adolescent treatment centers both in Rhode Island and in the country of Haiti. Becca is passionate about family as she believes it truly is one of the most powerful things! She believes there is always a victory to find in each day and it has the ability to transform us into people who are becoming free and more confident children of God.

Home Builders Therapist - Cumberland

Cassandra Steere joined Bethany Christian Services in 2018. Cassandra has several years of experience working with children in residential care, foster care, and crisis intervention. Cassandra is passionate about helping children and families. She earned her bachelor’s degree in child and adolescent psychology from Southern New Hampshire University.

Diego Tabares

UAC Case Manager - Cumberland

Diego joined the team early this year. He has five years of case management experience, reunification planning, licensing foster families and crisis intervention. He is passionate and excited to work with refugee and immigrant families to provide a better opportunity for these families and maintain a safe and supportive placement. Diego can speak three languages and studied at Franklin Pierce University.

Edwin Santeliz

Edwin Santeliz

UAC Case Manager - Cumberland

Edwin joined the Bethany team in late 2019 as a UAC Case Manager and has 15 years of management experience. Edwin has several years of experience working with at risk adolescents and their families. His passion is to work with immigrant families and provide advocacy and empowerment. Edwin is multilingual and received his Bachelor Degree in Social Work at Rhode Island College.
