Executive Director - NY and NJ - Fair Lawn
Maria joined Bethany in May 2021 as the Executive Director of the NJ and NY offices. She earned her master’s degree from Nyack College in 2011 and has over 20 years of experience working with youth and families, both in church youth ministry as well as in the non-profit sector as a case manager and psychotherapist. She has ten years of experience in non-profit leadership and for the last four years, she served on the local Bethany board before taking on the role of Director. She is passionate about child welfare and is grateful to work with a dedicated team to fulfill the vision of Bethany to keep children safe, loved and connected through family. Maria and her husband are proud parents of a teenage boy from South Africa.
Program Support Specialist - Fair Lawn
Christina joined Bethany Christian Services in 2020 as the Program Support Specialist for the Pregnancy Counseling and Adoption program. She graduated in January 2021 from Montclair State University with a Bachelors in Family Science and Human Development and currently enrolled in the MSW program at Rutgers University. She has experience working with children and families and feels blessed to be apart of the Bethany team.
Wraparound Therapist - Fair Lawn
Adriana joined Bethany Christian Services in 2021 as part of the Wraparound Stabilization Services (WSS). She earned her master’s degree in Forensic Psychology and Counseling from Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology in 2014. She has experience working with children, adults, and families. She is committed to helping the immigrant community and appreciates being able to assist those in need.
Claudia R. Zabala
- Fair Lawn
Claudia joined the Bethany family in July 2021 as a Wraparound Therapist. Before coming to Bethany, she worked as a bilingual counselor and Mental Health Clinician for the past 16 years. Claudia completed her MA degree in Clinical Counseling at Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2009. Claudia was born in Colombia; therefore, Spanish is her first language which has given her the privilege to work with a multicultural population, especially the Hispanic community. She is a compassionate, open minded and a loving person who is excited about walking “the path” with others to learn from one another. She has a 22-year-old son Leonardo, and a beautiful family. She enjoys having good friends in Ny and NJ since her blood family resides in Colombia. Claudia enjoys being active, the outdoors, reading and watching documentaries or conferences that help her grow.
UAC Supervisor - Fair Lawn
Claudia joined Bethany in 2018 as a UAC Case Manager and was promoted as the UAC Supervisor in March 2021. Claudia graduated from Kean University with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and then from Drew University Theological School with a Master of Divinity (MDiv). Claudia has six and a half years of experience working with domestic violence survivors and two years working with unaccompanied minors. She serves in her local church as a member of the Trustees and as part of the leadership team. Claudia feels honored and blessed to be part of Bethany Christian Services and have the opportunity to respond to God’s call in her life by serving others.
Adoption Specialist - Fair Lawn
Ellen has been working in the field of adoption since 1987. Ellen has extensive experience in working with adoptive parents and expectant parents. Ellen also teaches Child Welfare at the graduate school level. Ellen has a passion for adoption and for the families that she works with. Ellen loves working with her colleagues at Bethany and she is committed to providing quality services.
TVAP Case Manager - Fair Lawn
Melissa joined Bethany Christian Services in 2020 as the Case Manager for the Trafficking Victims Assistance Program (TVAP). She is currently enrolled in the MSW program at Ramapo College of New Jersey. She has eight years of experience working with children and their families, as well as incarcerated male adults. As a woman of mixed descent, she is empathetic to the struggle of the immigrant community and is committed to helping human trafficking survivors and their families thrive.
Arianna E. Urena
Office Manager - Fair Lawn
Arianna joined Bethany in September of 2021 initially as an Intern Advocacy Support Specialist and has now started her work as an Office Manager. She received her bachelor’s degree at Montclair State University with a major in Family Science and Human Development and a minor in Social Work. She has experience working with young children and hopes to continue helping them as she continues her journey in the social work field. She is very excited to be part of the Bethany team.
UAC Case Manager - Fair Lawn
Daisy feels privileged and blessed to be part of the UAC program at Bethany Christian Services. She enjoys serving unaccompanied minors and being a part of their journey.
Fingerprint Administrator - Fair Lawn
Leny joined Bethany Christian Services in 2021 as the fingerprint specialist for the Safe Release Support Program. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University in Communication Studies/PR and Sociology. She finds purpose in helping families reunite with their children. She believes that everyone deserves a helping hand in a time of need and is proud to help Bethany achieve that one day at a time.
Pregnancy Counselor and Adoption Specialist - Fair Lawn
Sinnamon Shelton earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in 2018 from Rutgers University and is a licensed social worker. She has experience working with children in a therapeutic environment and is committed to providing a necessary support network for families. Sinnamon feels blessed to be part of Bethany Christian Services, providing care and support to the people we serve everyday.
UAC Case Manager - Fair Lawn
Katrina Rubino feels blessed to work in the UAC program at Bethany Christian Services. She enjoys watching undocumented children improve their future and recover from trauma.
