Meet The Team
Regional Branch Director
Lynn has previously worked at Hennepin County as an area manager for Child Protection Service operations for more than 10 years. Her experience includes screening and investigations, children’s case management, family assessment, permanency, Indian Child Welfare, foster care, adoption, and children’s mental health. Prior to her time at Hennepin, Lynn served as the senior director of community services for the Professional Association of Treatment Homes, which included foster parent education, federal projects, and youth transition programing. She was also director of family services at the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery. Lynn has an undergraduate degree in business and computer technology, from Cameron University, a master’s in social work from Augsburg, and she has completed doctorate coursework at the University of Minnesota. Lynn is happily married and the proud mother of two children and grandmother to her grandchildren.
Sharon began working at Bethany in September 2014. She has over 25 years of experience working with youth and families in a variety of settings, including the Chicago area, Bay area, and the Twin Cities. Prior to Bethany, she worked at a private foster care agency in Minneapolis. She obtained her bachelor of arts with a major in psychology from Wheaton College and her master of social work from the University of Minnesota. She is married and has boy/girl twins.
Anna R. Bean
Anna Plautz joined Bethany Christian Services in 2018 as an adoption specialist. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and her master’s degree at the University of Minnesota. Anna has worked with children and families in various capacities, including as a behavioral therapist, special education teacher, and family consultation therapist. Anna enjoys working with families, camping, and traveling.
Expectant Father Advocate
Eric was introduced to the adoption field by his wife, Linda. Despite being new to working in this field, Eric has over 16 years experience working with families in the Twin Cities area. When Eric saw the opportunity to serve as an Expectant Father Advocate with Bethany, he felt it was the perfect opportunity to be a part of a ground-breaking endeavor. Eric has provided foster care domestically, interacted with orphans while in the Marine Corps and stationed in Korea, and worked closely with many social service agencies/advocacy groups in the Twin Cities area. Eric received his B.S. and M.A. from Northwestern College, St. Paul, MN and has received training in various aspects of child welfare and forensic interviewing of child victims of crime. Eric and his wife Linda are a blended family of six children and one grandchild.
Gloria D. Peterson
Family Counseling Supervisor
Gloria Peterson has a 25-year history of working as a mental health professional, including residential treatment in a juvenile correctional facility and outpatient work in mental health clinics. She earned her bachelor’s degree in management and cross-cultural counseling and her master’s degree in community mental health, counseling, and guidance.
Jenna first discovered Bethany in 2006 when she explored the possibility of adopting her monthly sponsor child in Honduras. She lived there for over four years and served at his orphanage, grew in fluency of the Spanish language, and also worked with youth and families as a counselor and chaplain at a Christian high school. Jenna has a master of arts in Human Services: Marriage and Family Therapy and has worked with youth and families for over 14 years. Her hobbies include cycling, volleyball, hiking, and traveling. She returns to Honduras at least once a year to be with her godson.
Foster Care Case Manager
Julie has worked with children and families in various capacities, including as a parent educator, teen mom mentor coordinator, and behavioral therapist. Julie has a master of arts in human services with a focus in family life education from Concordia University. She currently enjoys volunteering as a Big Sister through the Big Brother/Big Sisters program and spending quality time with her husband, two children, and their dog.
Michelle Andrew joined Bethany Christian Services in 2018. She earned her bachelor’s degree in social work. Previously, she worked as a social worker in long-term care in a local nursing home before having children. After having been a stay-at-home mom for several years, she began working in her kids’ school district as a special education paraprofessional in preschool for the past 12 years. Michelle is the proud and busy mom of three teenage children.
Foster Care Recruiter
Pa has been with Bethany Christian Services since November 2015 and currently works as a foster care licensor/recruiter. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota in family social science and will be pursuing her master’s degree in social work. She is the oldest of six children and was born in Minneapolis. Her hobbies include watching movies, reading, and road trips.
Foster Care Specialist
Teagan Mohs graduated from St. Catherine’s University with a bachelor’s degree in social work. She has experience working with at-risk youth at the Bridge for Youth and providing supervision during parent-child visits at Familywise. Teagan was inspired to work with children and families due to personal experiences in her family. Teagan enjoys spending time with her family, working with the high school ministry at her church, and traveling to new places.
Christy began working at Bethany soon after graduating from Dordt College in 1995. She was lead staff when the Willmar satellite office opened in 2003 and then returned to her current position as contracted birthparent counselor. Christie has a passion for pro-life ministries since volunteering at the Alpha Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Christy loves to scrapbook, go to kids' events at school and church, lead the outreach team at church, sing with praise team, and enjoys visiting family in Northwest Iowa.
Noel Kautz has worked for Bethany Christian Services since 2009 as an adoption social worker in the Willmar office. She enjoys helping to create forever families for waiting children. Noel and her husband, Jason, have been married 17 years. They have been blessed by three beautiful children who have all joined their family through adoption.
Rhonda Johnson joined Bethany Christian Services in 2012. She has a deep love for children, a passion for orphan care, and both personal and professional experience in adoption. She and her husband, Chris, have two grown children who were born in India and adopted as infants. She has completed the Permanency and Adoption Competency certificate post-graduate program at the University of Minnesota, as well as SAFE training.
Sara Barber earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and her master’s degree in counseling from Denver Seminary in Denver, CO. She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Sara has specialized training and experience in working with adopted children and adult adoptees on issues related to attachment, attunement, and grief/loss. As a mother of three adopted parents, she understands the importance of helping adoptive parents identify trauma-informed and adoption-competent parenting strategies.
