Executive Branch Director - Omaha
Sarah joined BCS as the Executive Branch Director for NW Iowa and Nebraska in 2019. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska Omaha in Criminal Justice and her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Wayne State College. Sarah has worked in the areas of Child Welfare, foster care and adoption since 2004. She has a passion for advocating for vulnerable children and families. Sarah serves as the President of the Nebraska Adoption Agency Association and has been involved in a number of associations and committees throughout Nebraska and Iowa. Sarah is married and has two young daughters. In their free time, Sarah’s family enjoys traveling, boating at nearby lakes and spending time outdoors.
Regional Director Donor Engagement - Orange City
Ken and his wife, Kim, have four children and six grandchildren. Ken felt the calling to help “every child find a loving family” back in 2013 and joined Bethany after a long career with Procter & Gamble and the Sioux Center Hospital. He is a regional development director working with the Eastern South Dakota office and the Northwest Iowa office in Orange City, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska. Ken has been a volunteer EMT for more than 30 years and considers EMT work as his second ministry.
Expectant Parent Advocate - Orange City
Trista Hodgson joined Bethany Christian Services in 2016. She has a passion for walking alongside people experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. She also wants to ensure that all children have a safe place to go during the struggles of life. Trista graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota. She and her husband, Chris, have three children and a puppy named Sage. Trista enjoys the outdoors, spending time with her family and friends, and coaching her children in basketball and softball.
International Adoption Social Worker, LBSW, CSW - Orange City
Heather has a passion for seeing children of all ages being placed in loving families, and she has been with Bethany Christian Services since 2007. She and her husband, Jason, have five children and have personally been blessed by the gift of adoption.
Social Worker - Orange City
Jean DenOuden works in Bethany’s Safe Families for Children program. She earned her bachelor’s degree in human services and psychology. Jean and her husband have been blessed with three adult children and four grandchildren. They enjoy camping, boating, hiking, traveling, and cooking.
