Executive Director - Central Florida
Laurie Stern joined Bethany in 2018 after working in child welfare for over 16 years. She comes to Bethany after six years working within Juvenile Justice reform as well as 9 years within the local child welfare system. Laurie’s passion has always been helping families. Stern earned a master’s degree in public administration from Troy University and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Laurie resides in Winter Garden and in her free time enjoys being a boy mom to two boys and spending time with her husband.
Office Manager and Regional Intake Coordinator - Central Florida
Gina Magrino joined Bethany Christian Services in 2014 as the office coordinator. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Shepherd University. Her position is a perfect marriage of her passion and skills, as Gina has 20+ years of experience in business development and customer service; she is also an adoptive parent.
Safe Families for Children Coordinator - Central Florida
Hollie Farrell serves as the Safe Families Coach for Orange, Osceola, and Seminole. She received her bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Central Florida. Hollie has worked with children and families in a variety of settings including in-home counseling, children’s ministry, and a children’s home overseas. Her passion is empowering children and watching them reach their fullest potential.
Kimberly A. Langlais
Regional Director of Donor Engagement - Central Florida
Kim joined Bethany Christian Services in July of 2019, as the Regional Director of Donor Engagement. For over 21 years, Kim has extensive marketing, development, fundraising and capital campaign experience. Her expertise includes major gifts, feasibility studies, annual appeals, and capital campaigns. Kim is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In addition to her professional work, Kim has spent years volunteering and serving her community for various endeavors. Kim lives in Harmony, Florida with her husband Darryl and young son Landon.
Administrative Assistant - Central Florida
Madeline Tavarez joined Bethany Christian Services in 2014. She has a degree in legal secretarial science from the City University of New York and has over 20 years of office administrative experience. She is happy to be part of Bethany’s mission to serve children and families.
Adoption Specialist and Pregnancy Counselor - Central Florida
Nichol Brown joined Bethany Christian Services because of her conviction to serve others the way she has been served. Nichol is adopted and wants to be able to share her adoption experience with other children. She earned her bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree of social work from Howard University in Washington, DC. Nichol has been working in the mental health field and educational field with children and their families since 2003.
Adoption Specialist - Central Florida
Nicole joined Bethany Christian Services in 2011, starting in Southern California. She was inspired to pursue a career in the adoption field after many years of working with women through unplanned pregnancies. Along with her husband and son, Nicole moved to Florida in 2018. She is so grateful to continue working with expectant parents in Florida as they journey through pregnancy, empowering them to make the best plan for themselves and their baby.”
Director of Family Services - Central Florida
Brittany Friis joined Bethany Christian Services in 2009. She earned a BS in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences from the University of Florida and has been working in social services for the past ten years. Brittany served as the Pregnancy Counselor for the Central and North Florida regions for seven years before becoming the Adoption Supervisor and now operates as the Director of Family Services. She currently oversees the Safe Families for Children, Domestic Infant Adoption, Intercountry Adoption, Pregnancy Counseling, and Post-Adoption Services programs.
