Dr. Kay Ramsey
Executive Branch Director - La Mirada
Dr. Kay Ramsey, Ph.D. joined Bethany in 2019 as the Executive Branch Director for Southern California overseeing offices in Camarillo, La Mirada, and Riverside. As a former foster youth and adoptee, Dr. Ramsey has a personal commitment to GOD in being a good steward of HIS work as she has triumphed beyond adversity throughout her life. As a transformational leader and visionary, Dr. Ramsey brings 20 years of experience in social services. Her business acumen, strategic planning and clinical expertise as a Marriage and Family Therapist is truly an asset for Bethany. Dr. Kay Ramsey successfully completed her Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration with a concentration in Non-profit Leadership. She also has a dual master’s degree with receiving her MA from Pepperdine University in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Master in Business Administration. Dr. Ramsey’s post-doc research focuses on social change initiatives for underserved populations in areas of foster care, emancipated youth and social justice. Her plan is also to broaden this scholarship in various demographics while seeking best practices from a global perspective.
Program Director - Camarillo
Laurissa Miller joined Bethany in 2017. She has been working in foster care and adoption since 2010. She started at the front desk as the Administrative Assistant, moved to Case manager, and is currently the Program Director. She earned her master’s degree from University of New England in Social Work. She is currently working on her hours to obtain her licensure. Laurissa loves spending time with her husband and two little girls.
Navie M. Fredrickson
Office Manager - Camarillo
Navie Fredrickson joined Bethany in 2019. As office manager, she assists her team and Bethany families with various administrative responsibilities. She is presently attending California State University of Channel Islands in pursuance of becoming a Marriage Family Therapist and to further Gods calling upon her life, which is helping families and children. Navie finds great joy in spending time with her family, performing music, and doing community outreach.
Foster Care Adoption Specialist - Camarillo
Brianna joined Bethany Christian Services in 2019 as a Trainer and Adoption Specialist, before transitioning into the role of Program Supervisor for Post Release Services in 2021. Brianna graduated with her Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX. Brianna has created a career in the field of social services through her history of working with immigrant youth, foster children, and adoptive families. In her free time, Brianna enjoys thrifting, sewing, and working on DIY projects.
Foster Care Family Recruiter, Foster Care - Camarillo
Rachel joined the Bethany team in 2020. She completed her BA in Biblical Studies at LIFE Pacific University and is currently pursuing a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy. Rachel has spent her career focusing on people and teams- including as a General Manager for multiple retail companies and as the Director of Connection Ministries for a large church in San Diego. She is thrilled to bring that experience to Bethany as the Foster Family Recruiter and to be able to help families get connected and get started on this exciting and rewarding journey. Rachel and her husband are resource parents (foster parents) in Ventura County and in her spare time you can find her at the beach.
Foster Care Case Manager MA/MSW - Camarillo
Teresa joined the Bethany team in 2019. She completed her BA in Sociology at CSU Channel Islands and her MSW ar CSU Long Beach. Teresa is also an AmeriCorps alumni and is currently working towards has clinical hours for LCSW licensing. She is bilingual (Spanish/English) and has previous experience in medical social wok and mental health. Teresa loves to empower individuals and uplift them so they can reach their potential despite their adversities. Teresa has been married for 25 years and has two teenage boys. When not working, she likes to spend time with her family and volunteer at her local food pantry.
