Adoption Specialist, LSW
Dina Vinson joined Bethany Christian Services in 2016. A 2011 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in Social Work, Dina has a rich history working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities as Program Manager for Best Buddies Int., as a Mental Health Paraprofessional with Pathfinders, Inc. and as an intern with Treatment Homes, Inc. Her most relevant experience, however, is more personal as Dina is married with two children, both adopted internationally. She knows first-hand the obstacles families face when navigating the adoption process as well as the potential challenges of assimilating to life post-placement.
Pregnancy Counselor/Clinical Supervisor, LSW
Becky Casanova serves as the pregnancy counselor and Clinical Supervisor for Bethany Christian Services of Arkansas. She has a heart for expectant and birth parents and a passionate desire to help others. Her extensive career includes positions in the child welfare, medical and legal fields. She earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. Becky and her husband have been married for 28 years and are active members of a local church. They have two adult children who also have a heart for serving and making a difference in the lives of children and families.
LaTanya Bennett has over 15 years of management experience and six years of experience providing services to people with disabilities and other special needs. She has a strong background in volunteer services including program development, youth mentoring and outreach services. Formerly, she was a Job Coach for Goodwill and served part-time as a Residential Counselor and Mentor for Youth Home. In her free time, she volunteers as a mentor for young women, helping them achieve personal growth and confidence. She also serves as a foster parent and desires to create a pathway to a healthy, productive life for all children. LaTanya earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is currently pursuing her master’s degree at Arkansas State University.
Rebecca graduated from John Brown University in 2011 with a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and Community Counseling and is passionate about ministering to young women and families. With experience in pregnancy counseling, Rebecca will be able to support the pregnancy counselors in addition to serving as Office Manager. As a single mother who experienced a crisis pregnancy, Rebecca feels especially called to be a reflection of God’s grace and love toward women facing similar situations.
Safe Families Coordinator BS/BA
Deanna Walderns serves as the Safe Families for Children Coordinator. She has a passion and determination for helping others that have defined her personal and professional life. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Arkansas State University. She has been happily married to her husband Ken for 12 years and together they have 5 children and 8 grandchildren. Deanna has never forgotten where she came from, and her heart for ministry comes from her own experiences in the foster care system and as a single mother. She has spent nearly a decade assisting foster and adoptive parents in training, support, and encouragement. Deanna came to us after serving the last six years as Mission Director of The Grace Church, helping counsel single mothers and fragile families.
