Bethany Christian Services formed a corporate subsidiary, Bethany Christian Services International, Inc. (BCSI), in 1982 to direct all its international programs. BCSI draws upon a wealth of child welfare competencies and a network of internal resources to provide technical assistance, training, support, and capacity-building to all our international partners.

Today, BCSI supports the provision of a continuum of community-based child welfare services in more than 17 countries. BCSI has established independent, locally registered NGOs that serve as strategic partners in 7 countries: Russia, Ukraine, Kosovo, Albania, Romania, Guatemala, and Ethiopia. Their services include temporary care, family support services, adoption services, education and training, and social service development. The international services of Bethany Christian Services are directed through the office of Bethany Christian Services International, headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

BCSI has formed additional partnerships with NGOs in China, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Colombia, Haiti, Hong Kong, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, and Zambia. BCSI also works in collaboration with national and international NGOs; local, regional, federal governments; UNICEF; U.S. experts and universities; and faith-based communities.

This powerful video showcases Bethany’s work in Ethiopia as an example of our efforts
to help children find the best families around the globe. You will see a sibling group
adopted by a family in the U.S. as well as another girl from the same community that is able
to stay in her biological family due to our efforts to help keep the family together.
