Adam and Meredith - Rochester, New York

PLACEMENT!!

Dear Birthparent(s),

We are excited to share who we are with you! We can only imagine the range of emotions you might be going through, but know in our hearts that you are a strong person to be where you are now. You have chosen life for a child, even though it has meant sacrifice for you. We honor and esteem you and are thankful to God that you have allowed Him to work in your life and the life of your child.

Choosing the parents to raise your child is a daunting task without doubt. We can only lift you up in prayer as you make this decision. At the same time, we can share about ourselves and try to give you the best idea of the kind of home and family life we share.

We have been married for 7 years and are both physical therapists. We both enjoy children and have always wanted a family. Like so many, we have walked the infertility journey for the past 5 years, seeking medical intervention yet trusting that God's ways are higher than ours'. We have realized that God is trying to bless us with a family through adoption and that this has been His plan all along! We are honored to be chosen for this, to love and nurture a child as our own and to let a birthmom feel peace knowing her child is loved and cared for.

As we don't expect you'll identify with our situation, we certainly cannot comprehend yours. Know that while each of our circumstances are vastly different, God has used them to bring us together for His good! Your decision will fulfill the dreams of a couple longing to love and raise a child. We pray that through Bethany, your needs will be met as well.

We met in PT school in Virginia and dated for less than a year before becoming engaged. Less than a year after that, we were married in the fall of 2002 in Meredith's home church in New York state where she had grown up. We knew we had some debt to pay off and at the same time were desiring some adventure. Thus began our journey as "traveling physical therapists", moving all over the country to fill vacancies temporarily! This was a great time for us to learn to lean on each other and to adapt quickly to new situations. We lived in an RV and were able to pay off all our debts while being paid to travel. What a deal!

After four years, we knew it was time for us to settle down and grow roots. We both longed for a family and wanted to become an active part of our church and community. We chose to be near Meredith's parents and to enjoy all that the lakes and hills the area had to offer! We both love the outdoors and love to hike and camp and be out on the water. We live in a family friendly neighborhood on three wooded acres. There are three other families in our neighborhood with adopted children, as well as three different families in our church with adopted children. Meredith's aunt and uncle recently adopted thru Bethany as well. We feel having these contacts and family members who are adopted will be so valuable to our child's sense of permanence and belonging.

About us:
Adam is 5'10" with brown eyes and hair and a great smile! He works at an outpatient physical therapy office within a hospital. His hours are 8-4:30 sharp, which is such a blessing for planning family meals and time together in the evenings. Adam is good at what he does and will go out of his way to help someone in need. He is very thoughtful and caring, with a tenderness that is unique to find! He is very good at caring for things we own and is careful about details. He takes pride in his work and is extremely dependable and reliable. He is always lighthearted and is often found pulling a prank on a coworker or even his mother-in-law! We have found that kids just love him and that normally shy kids warm up to him quickly. He will be a wonderful, caring father, spending time with his children and training them to love the Lord and to be thoughtful of others.

Meredith is 5'9" with green eyes and brown hair. She works 22 hours a week in a sports medicine clinic, and then works between 6-12 hours per week as a homecare PT. She plans to quit her sports medicine job once we have a child, to be at home (mostly). We feel this is an invaluable time to train and nurture our children and she can't wait! Meredith is the type of person who can excel at anything quickly, yet still be found curled up with a book at home. She is recharged by being with friends, but seeks time alone in nature or listening to music to rest. She has a tender heart and people are drawn to her caring spirit. She makes friends with her patients of all ages and is known to help them outside of the work setting. She loves the Lord is thoughtful and faithful, and will make a wonderful mother.

Together, we are committed to living godly lives. We pray together and take part in a couple's Bible study. We live within a budget plan each month and are financially stable. We are known for having a clean and organized house by our friends, yet we aren't afraid to make a mess to have fun! We are healthy individuals, who strive to live healthy lives as well. More than anything, we make a great team! We work so well together and are good at being aware of each other's needs and communicating to each other. We don't raise our voices and tend to be very patient. We are people of routine, yet aren't afraid to be spontaneous. We are blessed with a loving extended family, special friends, and a church family where at least three other families have adopted, one through Bethany even! We can't wait to meet the child that has been chosen specifically by God for us to parent.

Our hearts are open to loving you and your child with all that we have. We are open to continuing a relationship with you if you so desire. Please know that you will always be talked of highly to our children and he/she will know that you love them beyond measure. May God use this to draw you close to Him.

Prayerfully,
Adam and Meredith
