Carl and Caryl - Palos Heights, Illinois
We are Carl and Caryl and would like to introduce ourselves. You are in our prayers as you make this most important decision for your precious little one. We have known each other since we were children. In fact, we were born in the same hospital only 11 hours apart. We grew up in the same small town and went to the same high school. We are best friends and enjoy being together. As we have struggled with the inability to carry a baby to term, we realized that it is God’s plan for us to grow our family through adoption. We’d love the chance to get to know you and the wonderful privilege of offering your child a loving home and a good life.
Our Marriage
We didn’t find out until we were older just what a small world we really live in when our dad and uncle met and realized that they’d known each other “back in the day.” Our older brothers were even friends in high school. With all the coincidences in our lives, when we finally got to know each other, we realized that it is destiny for us to be together. We have so much in common, it’s uncanny. We enjoy classic cars, camping, fishing, wildlife, cookouts, and working out. We do a lot of cooking together. We like to eat healthy by making our meals from scratch with fresh, wholesome ingredients.
We own a business and Carl also drives for UPS. He is home every night and neither of us work weekends. Caryl has a Bachelor’s of Science from DeVry University and a background in computer programming, but will be staying home with our children. We are active in our local church where Caryl is on the Intercessory Prayer Team and Carl helps set up for events.
Our Family motto is “Always treat yourself and everyone else with love, kindness and respect.”
Our Daughter
My name is Samantha. I am Carl’s 17 year old daughter. I am a senior in high school waiting to graduate so that I can start my culinary career. I am a very bubbly, hard-working, committed kind of girl. My memories with my dad are endless and a lot of the things I do now bring back memories from when I was a little girl, like watching classic movies or just eating chips and salsa. Caryl is a great person in general she has a fun goofy side to her but then she has a serious let’s get down to business side also, which is a good thing because that’s how she gets things accomplished. My grandma and grandpa I look up to a lot and love them even more! My grandma is such a sweet person and I couldn’t ask for a better one, and my grandpa is a very wise man who inspires me to go further with my career. My aunts, uncles, and cousins are what tie the knot to everything because without them the family wouldn’t be the same. I’d love to have a little brother or sister around because I have always been the youngest sibling so having a little sibling would be a lot different in a good way because I have always wanted to know how it feels to have a little baby looking up to me. I feel that my dad and Caryl would be the perfect couple to have a little baby girl or boy because they are deserving, caring, and loving in every type of way. If you choose my dad and Caryl to raise your baby you won’t have to worry or regret anything because he/she will be in a safe, healthy, loving environment.
Our Families.
Caryl’s parents have been married 52 years and live nearby. They are eagerly awaiting more grandchildren and look forward to spoiling them every chance they get. Carl’s dad and Step-mom have been married 25 years and have a daughter, Carli, who just graduated from DePaul University. They live in the next town. Carl’s mom and Step-dad have been married 12 years. They live downstate, but visit often for weekends and family get-togethers. We have six siblings between the two of us, all of whom have children and we see often.
Our Home.
We live in a 4-bedroom, 2-story home on a quiet cul-de-sac in a great neighborhood. It sits on almost 2 acres. The big back yard is fenced and hosts more than its share of family and neighborhood parties and cookouts. We like to think we have the best of 3 worlds where our home is located. We are in the suburbs just outside of town. Five minutes to the Metra station and we have access to downtown Chicago with its beautiful lakefront, universities, world-class museums, sporting events, zoos, aquariums, festivals and theaters. Ten minutes by car, there are great schools (in the top 5 school districts in the entire U.S), parks, recreation, restaurants and shopping. The schools in our area offer tons of extra-curricular activities: sports, theater, debate, politics, music...even scrap booking and crafting clubs. The park district offers a lot of affordable activities, too. To our west a few minutes are farms, open country and farming towns. In summer, the farm stands are in full-swing with fresh corn, tomatoes and other fresh produce grown nearby.
This is the best neighborhood we’ve ever seen and we plan to live here the rest of our lives. We’ve made great friends in the 2 years we’ve been here. We play Bunko once a month and have cookouts. Sometimes, in the summer and fall, we get the neighbors together, have a bonfire at the end of the street, get out the Chart of the Constellations and our telescopes and spend an evening star-gazing.
Our Faith.
We are Christians who have a close personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Caryl is on the Intercessory Prayer Team and we help out at church functions. We love The Lord with all our hearts and try to live our lives in service to Him. We have a loving church family. We trust God’s plan for us. His plan may not be for Caryl to give birth to children, but we see it as a blessing that He has given us both hearts to love children we did not give birth to.
Our Thoughts for You
Thanks for taking the time to get to know us a little better. We are excited about God’s plan for us to become parents through adoption and God’s plan for your life. We look forward to meeting you and learning about your hopes and dreams for your beautiful child. May the Lord Bless you and keep you. You are a hero!
