Bethany Stories
Share Your Story
We know how much people love hearing stories from our Bethany families. Whether it’s through our quarterly magazine, LifeLines, or online, we’d love to have the opportunity to share yours. Stories enable us to explain our ministry in a way that inspires others to get involved in helping the lives of children.
Story Submission Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in submitting your story to Bethany Christian Services. We look forward to reading about your experience with Bethany and possibly sharing it with others.
Due to the quantity of stories we receive, we will not be able to share every story submitted. However, if your story is selected, we will notify you when we publish an edited version of it.
We have created some brief guidelines that we ask writers to follow when they submit a story to us. Due to the number of people who want to share their experiences, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to post your story, but following the guidelines below does increase its likelihood. Please keep these guidelines in mind when you fill out the Media Release of Information Form.
Stories should be:
- Original and unpublished. We do not pay writers for their stories.
- About a personal experience specifically with Bethany Christian Services.
- About an expectant parent, a birthparent, an adoptive parent, an adoptee, a foster parent, or a foster child.
- There must be a Media Release of Information Form submitted for each individual family or adult named in a story or shown in a photo. Parents or guardians may sign the release form for their children.
- Submitted in a Word document that is no longer than 800 words.
- Accompanied by digital photos, if desired.
- If you are sending an adoption story, please wait to submit it until the adoption is legally finalized.
