Ben and Jennifer - Atlanta, Georgia
Hello!
We are Ben and Jennifer. Thanks so much for looking at our profile. We can only imagine how it feels to be in your shoes, but we thank God for you, your baby, your generosity, your love, and your unselfishness. We are grateful that you are considering trusting us with the most precious gift you could ever share with us, and we are committed to providing a loving, secure home for your child. We would consider it to be an awesome responsibility and privilege to be chosen to adopt your baby. We believe that we are each, individually, loved and celebrated by God. We look forward to teaching your child that they are unique, special, and loved just how they are: in the individual way God created them. We also believe that you are immensely loved by God.
Our Story
We met on a Christian internet dating site in June 2004. Jennifer was a native of Atlanta who was living in Baltimore and Ben was working in Atlanta after moving here for graduate school. After spending countless hours on the phone, we met in person over the July 4th weekend. Even during that first weekend, we knew that God had answered our prayers and brought us together as true, lifelong companions. In January 2005, we became engaged and Jennifer moved to Atlanta. We were married in May 2005 in Jennifer’s parents’ home.
About Us
We have been married four amazing years, and feel closer now than when we were first married. We love to go out to the movies for date night, and have a few TV shows that we watch together every week. We enjoy going out to dinner together, going out to lunch after church with our friends, or getting together with friends to play games. We are both involved in our church and look forward to Sunday mornings and our weekly small group. While we love being at home, we do enjoy taking short trips to the north Georgia mountains and North Carolina. We enjoy going to the Midwest to visit Ben’s family. We have also taken some great trips out West. One of our most memorable trips was our visit to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. Our favorite vacations involve gorgeous landscapes where we can take many beautiful pictures.
About Ben
Ben is easy going, loves sharing stories, and gets along well with people. He has a sincere and loving heart, and is extremely loyal to family and friends. He has a surprising ability to learn unusual facts and share information. Ben loves all things technical, airplanes, photography, and books. Growing up, he played football, baseball, and basketball with his brothers, and was active in his youth group. His favorite childhood memories are of spending a summer working on his Uncle’s farm in upstate New York and playing golf with his Dad.
Ben works just 5 miles from home, and does not have to travel for work. His love for God shows through all he does. Ben is an elder at our church and a member of the teaching team, teaching on Sunday mornings about twice a quarter. He is going to be a tender, cuddly, and loving Daddy for your baby.
About Jen
Jennifer enjoys baking, computers, and gardening. She loves helping others and sharing quality time with the people she loves. Some of her favorite childhood memories are of visiting her grandparents in Oregon and Missouri. One grandmother was a gifted artist and the other taught her all about baking. In high school, Jennifer was active in her church, on the swim team, and played clarinet in the band.
Jennifer has always loved children, helping in church nurseries, baby sitting throughout high school, lifeguarding, being a nanny during college summers, and teaching sunday school. She taught Middle School band for several years before settling into a career at Social Security. Jennifer previously served as the children's ministry leader at church, and continues to love helping out with her friends' children and helping in the church nursery. She is going to be a hands-on, patient, involved, and loving Mommy for your baby.
Our Home and Pets
We moved into our home in a northern suburb of Atlanta in April 2008. It is two stories, with four bedrooms and 3 full baths. We have a great yard for children to play in, and our house is on a cul-de-sac that is already bustling with the activity from our neighbor's children. We often see families walking together, people walking their dogs, and children riding bikes after school and on the weekends in our neighborhood. Since we plan on raising our family here, we intentionally chose an area where children thrive, where the public schools are excellent, and where the community is full of things for kids and families to do. There are ball fields, a nature center, and a fabulous playground nearby. We have two cats, who we adore and who are great around children. Baxter loves affection and is a curious cat that always seems to be getting into something. Baxter’s little sister Lucy is super soft, gentle yet playful, and loves to cuddle.
