Alan and Lynel - Madison Heights, Michigan
Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you for considering us to be the parents of your baby. We understand what a difficult decision this is for you. We pray that God will help you to make the decision that is right for you and your baby.
We would like to tell you a little about ourselves. We have been married for almost six years. Alan is a letter carrier for the post office. Lynel is an elementary teacher with an endorsement in early childhood. Both of us enjoy our jobs; however, Lynel plans on being a stay at home mother once we become parents.
Both of us have a great love for children. We are very active in the lives of our nephews and friend’s children. We have seven all together and one on the way. We love to take them places. We go to the zoo and science center many times a year. They love to spend the weekend at our house. We like to make holidays special for them.
We always have an egg hunt for Easter, sparklers and small fireworks for July 4th. We always go to the zoo or science center in our Halloween costumes. We go to the zoo to see the Lights of Christmas and visit Santa Claus. We made a playroom in our basement so they always have things to do inside. Outside we have a swing set, fort, and sandbox. In the summer, they like to run through the sprinkler or slip n slide.
We have always wanted to be parents. As a child, Lynel always wanted to be the mom. Lynel always mothered her younger cousins and neighbors. Alan always enjoys playing with the children and is told he will make a great dad since all children love him immediately. We were initially disappointed when we could not conceive on our own; however, we realized that God had a special baby for us that only He could bring our way. We know we will love the child just as much as if he or she was born out of our body.
We have both always been active in church. Alan currently helps with the special needs class at church and has helped in other children’s ministries in the past. Lynel has helped with various children’s classes since her teen years. Lynel’s father is a minister. Lynel has helped her father by heading the children’s ministry and also playing the piano during worship. We both have a deep faith in God. We know that God brought us together and has plans for our lives. We believe that God should be the center of all our decisions.
If you choose us to be your baby’s parents, we will give your baby a loving home. The baby will have great-grandparents, grandparents, great aunts and uncles, aunts, uncles, and cousins involved in his or her life. We have a large extended family that loves to be together at holidays and other times throughout the year. We live across the street from Lynel’s parents so they will be daily involved in the life of the baby.
We plan on raising our children to know and love God with all their heart. They will learn about God at home through reading stories, praying, and talking about Jesus on a daily basis. They will also learn about God at church. As they grow up, we want them to become involved in some form of ministry whether it is musically, puppets, teaching, or helping.
We plan on sending our children to school; however, we will start teaching them at home when they are young. Lynel’s background in early childhood will help the children get a good start in education.
We have a goal of visiting all 50 states. Each year we travel to a different state and visit the historical and the fun places in the state. It makes for a great vacation. This year we took our nephews on vacation with us. We took the older boys to Kings Island. We took the younger boys to visit Minnesota. This year we are taking our younger nephews to visit their great–grandparents in Florida. We feel that children enrich our vacations and make them more special.
We plan on letting our children know they were adopted from the beginning. We want them to know that their birth mother loved them so much that she trusted us to be their mommy and daddy. We will be forever grateful for the opportunity to raise your precious child. We pray that God will help you make the decision that is right for you and your child.
