Tucker and Gina - Candia, New Hampshire
Dear Birthparent(s),
We would like the opportunity to introduce ourselves to you; we are Tucker and Gina and we have been married eleven years. We met by chance at Gina’s work place. When our eyes met, we knew there was something very special about each other, and we both felt it. We met fourteen years ago, and that spark in our eyes is still shining. People often comment on our apparent connection with each other. We are of the same heart. We have a great love for life, family, and nature.
Gina is the youngest of eight children. She grew up in a very close knit family and continues to be close with her siblings, nephews, nieces, and parents. Gina is loving and compassionate and cannot hide her enthusiasm for life. She loves to create things with her hands, whether it is making a traditional ethnic meal (Italian mostly), building a stone wall, or sewing a piece of clothing. She loves swimming with a passion and grew up spending summers on a lake in Connecticut. In fact, Tucker proposed to Gina after swimming across this lake to a sand bar. Gina’s family gathers here every summer to reconnect and have fun. We chose to live in New Hampshire town that has five lakes so that we can continue to swim, canoe, and kayak together as a family.
Tucker is the youngest of three children and is also close with all of his family. Tucker is a gentle hearted, down to earth and fun loving man. He longs to be outdoors whenever he can. He loves to hike, bicycle, swim, kayak, ski, snowshoe, play soccer, etc. Tucker is athletic and is known for his good sportsmanship. He has introduced Gina to many winter activities which we enjoy together. Gina is never afraid to try something new, and Tucker is a patient teacher. Tucker spent many years at camp, both as a camper and a counselor and has worked with children as a coach, elementary education and special education teacher. He is a natural around kids and most children are drawn to his warm persona.
As a married couple, we are equal partners. We share in all responsibilities, finances, home management, and leisure activities. We do things as a team because we enjoy each other’s company. We are best friends. We built our first home together six years ago, and we have discovered talents we never knew before. We cleared the trees from the front of the wooded lot, Tucker with a large saw, Gina with a small saw. We make housework and yard work fun, just because we are doing it together. In the midst of sweat and toil, Tucker will burst out “Are we having fun yet?” which always bring a smile and laughter.
We know first hand the miracle of adoption. It began in 1995, and again in 1997 when Gina’s sister adopted two boys. They were welcomed into the family with open arms and hearts. Our third experience was our own. In 2005, we began our pursuit to adopt with the NH Catholic Charities. Two years later, we were blessed with a son. The bond we share with Josiah is so strong; we could not love him any more than we do. He is a fun loving, happy, and well adjusted child. To put it simply; we adore him. When other children are around, Josiah is exuberant. He would love to have a brother or sister. We know this because he is the youngest of 21 cousins! It is too much attention for one child to hold! We are in contact with Josiah’s birth parents, and are always happy to share his growth and development with them. We are all a part of Josiah’s family; we all love him, and have his best interests at heart. We consider birthparents as heroes. We don’t think we could ever have the impact on another person’s life as you will have. You are very special.
Thank you for taking time to read a little bit of our story. We wish you the best in your process of adoption and hope you will find comfort knowing your child will be loved dearly. We thank you for considering us as prospective parents. We would be happy to share more about ourselves if you have any questions or concerns.
In Gratitude,
Gina and Tucker
